Self Love

We teach our children to be kind and compassionate and to love and respect others, but do we teach them to turn these qualities inward- to be kind and compassionate and to love and respect themselves too?

Self-love is a precise balance between accepting, appreciating and understanding who you are AND having the courage and humility for reflection and accountability. It is allowing yourself to be vulnerable but also trusting your inhibition when you feel threatened. Self-love is rooted in the narrative of your inner voice and requires both action and feeling, therefore, speak kindly to yourself (as a parent) and encourage your children to do the same (behaviour is mirrored).

Self-love is an ecosystem of mental, physical and emotional effort. Feed your brain with goodness, take care of your body and be a kind human with good character. Self-Love is a concept that MUST be spoken about in your homes with your children, ask them what they love about themselves and be deliberate about reinforcing those qualities for them.
